Meet Michon: A Journey of Healing and Passion
After graduating from the Northwest Academy of Healing Arts in 2010, Michon began a career-long pursuit of understanding the body and helping people move and feel better. Through years of hands-on experience and ongoing education, her work has evolved from simply treating symptoms to identifying and addressing the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction.
Michon specializes in working with clients who want to actively participate in their healing process. Her goal is not to keep clients on her schedule forever, but to help them make lasting improvements, develop a better understanding of their bodies, and ultimately need less treatment over time. She believes the best results happen when clients are active participants in the process, using what they learn in the treatment room to create meaningful change outside of it.
Clients often tell Michon that she is able to identify the source of their discomfort quickly, sometimes before they have fully described the problem themselves. Years of experience, continuing education, and a genuine curiosity about how the body works have helped her develop an approach that is both intuitive and highly specific. Rather than following a routine treatment plan, she tailors every session to what each client’s body needs that day.
Her work incorporates a variety of techniques, including Neuromuscular Re-Education, Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping, Gua Sha, Craniosacral Therapy, Intraoral Massage, Ashiatsu, and Reiki. While these tools are valuable, Michon believes successful treatment comes from understanding the whole person and uncovering the factors contributing to pain and dysfunction.
One area Michon is especially passionate about is her ongoing training in Fascial Counterstrain. As she has continued to grow as a therapist, she has become increasingly interested in approaches that focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of dysfunction rather than simply managing symptoms. Fascial Counterstrain has become an important part of that journey, and she continues to pursue advanced training as she works toward integrating it more fully into her practice.
Outside the treatment room, Michon enjoys gardening, weightlifting, exploring with her family, and capturing authentic moments through her photography business. She believes movement, curiosity, and connection are essential parts of a healthy life, and those values continue to shape both her personal journey and her work with clients.
