Meet Jen: Listening to the Tissue and Looking Beyond Symptoms to Find the Why
Jennifer (Jen) Bull has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2000. Throughout her career, she has been drawn to working with patients experiencing complex or difficult-to-resolve conditions, including autoimmune dysfunction, neurological conditions, post-surgical complications, TMJ dysfunction, chronic cervical pain, sympathetic nervous system dysregulation, persistent headache patterns, and patients who feel they have exhausted traditional treatment options or reached a dead end within the conventional medical model.
Known for her problem-solving mindset and ability to connect the dots between seemingly unrelated symptoms, Jen approaches every case with curiosity, critical thinking, and a willingness to look beyond the obvious. Rather than repeatedly chasing symptoms as they return, her work focuses on identifying the deeper dysfunctions and patterns contributing to pain in the first place.
Over the last two and a half decades, Jen has worked collaboratively with a wide range of healthcare professionals to help patients navigate complex conditions. Her treatment style blends clinical reasoning with a deep respect for the body’s ability to heal and adapt. While her background includes extensive training in Neuromuscular Re-Education, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Gua Sha, Cupping, and Intraoral Massage, her work has gradually evolved toward lighter-touch modalities including Craniosacral Therapy and Fascial Counterstrain.
Jen works best with patients who are open to being active participants in their healing process. She believes long-term improvement often requires a combination of hands-on treatment, nervous system regulation, movement, stress management, lifestyle awareness, and learning to better understand the body over time. Her goal is not simply temporary relief, but helping patients create sustainable changes that improve their overall quality of life.
A personal health journey involving autoimmune disease and thyroid surgery fundamentally changed Jen’s perspective on healthcare. After experiencing firsthand the frustration of being told her symptoms were “in her head” despite significant physical challenges, she began exploring therapeutic approaches focused on the nervous system, fascia, and the body’s self-regulating mechanisms. That experience continues to shape both her clinical work and her passion for advocating for patients who feel unheard, overlooked, or stuck without hope.
Today, Jen primarily focuses on Fascial Counterstrain, Craniosacral Therapy, Intraoral Massage, and complex neurological, cervical, autoimmune, sympathetic nervous system, and chronic pain dysfunction. She is especially interested in the relationship between fascia, trauma, stress physiology, the nervous system, and persistent pain patterns. Her continued studies in Fascial Counterstrain have deepened her understanding of how subtle restrictions within the body can create significant dysfunction over time, and how gentle work can sometimes create more profound change than aggressive manual therapy.
Beyond patient care, Jen is passionate about education, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others to grow. Whether she is working with patients, mentoring therapists, teaching continuing education, interning young adults, or developing systems behind the scenes, her goal remains the same: helping people progress forward while equipping them with tools for long-term success.
Outside the clinic, Jen enjoys international travel, exploring historic sites and different cultures, attending live music events, spending time with her family, and relaxing with her husband and dogs on the Oregon coast. In recent years, she has also spent more time in Southern California, where she enjoys continuing her education, building professional connections, and creating community outside of the Pacific Northwest.
