Infrared Therapy - Infrared Sauna

Infrared sauna therapy is a perfect complement to your massage session. By booking in advance, you can enjoy 15-20 minutes in our sauna before your massage. This brief time in the sauna helps to warm up your muscles, making them more receptive to the work of your massage therapist, so you get the most out of your bodywork session

Infrared sauna therapy is known to support various health benefits, including detoxification, improved circulation, pain relief, muscle relaxation, skin rejuvenation, and enhanced immune function. Many people also find it effective for stress relief and achieving a sense of deep relaxation. It can be a great way to transition from your busy work day into your therapeutic massage session.

What are Infrared Wavelengths?

Infrared sauna therapy uses infrared light to create heat, which penetrates deeply into the body to promote detoxification, relaxation, and pain relief. Unlike traditional saunas that use steam or hot air to warm the body, infrared saunas emit infrared wavelengths that directly heat the body without excessively heating the surrounding air. Our sauna has 9 panels to reach the full body and uses predominantly far-infrared (FIR) wavelengths which are the deepest penetrating into the body. These wavelengths aid in muscle recovery, reduces inflammation, relieves joint pain, and promotes detoxification at a deeper level.

What are Some Benefits of Infrared Therapy?

The Far Infrared wavelength is naturally produced by our bodies and is readily absorbed, helping to support natural healing. This same wavelength is emitted by the panels in our sauna, providing a gentle, radiant heat. Infrared panels (shown in the model above) offer benefits that go beyond traditional steam saunas and are also safer. Because infrared saunas operate at around 120 degrees, you can enjoy the effects in a cooler, more breathable environment.

  • Deep heat to muscles, joints, and organs
  • Removal of toxins through perspiration and increased circulation
  • Can decrease pain due to inflammatory joint conditions (such as arthritis)
  • Increases blood circulation
  • Can reduce appearance of cellulite through penetration of fat cells under the skin
  • Can help skin related issues
  • Can speed healing time and recovery for wounds or injuries

These benefits are presented for reference purposes only and no implication of infrared saunas creating a cure for or treating any disease is implied nor should it be inferred. If you have a health condition, are taking prescription drugs, or have acute joint injuries, please consult your physician before starting infrared therapy. Persons with surgical implants (metal pins and rods, artificial joints, silicone, or other types of surgical implants) typically do not experience any adverse effects, but should also consult their physician or surgeon before starting infrared therapy.

Infrared Sauna Time & Temperature Guide:

Our Sauna Tech can assist you in choosing the right time and temperature for your session, but here's a simple guide to help you get started. Even if you're not able to use the infrared sauna multiple times a week, using it just before your massage can significantly enhance the benefits of your session. The heat from the sauna helps relax and prepare your muscles, allowing your massage therapist to work more effectively and maximize your results.

What Should I Wear in The Infrared Sauna?

Light, breathable clothing like a bathing suit or shorts, or even a towel is recommended. Since infrared rays penetrate the skin directly, it’s best to keep the skin exposed to maximize benefits. Our sauna room is able to be locked and is private. You are able to remove all clothing if you wish as long as you have a provided towel down as a barrier.

Will I Sweat While Using The Sauna?

Most likely, yes. At the lower temperature levels you may perspire a bit, but as one progresses in time and temperature it will likely increase as the body detoxifies and warms up to dripping from your body. We provide towels and a bottle of water to aid in hydration during your session, but you may want to bring your own as well.

What Should I do to Prepare for an Infrared Sauna Session?

Staying hydrated is essential, so drink plenty of water before, during, and after your session. Avoid heavy meals right before. We provide towels, and warm clean wet towels to wipe off in between your sauna session and massage.

Is it okay to bring my phone or tablet into the sauna?

It’s not recommended to bring electronics into the sauna due to the high heat and potential for damage. It’s also a great opportunity to unplug, relax, and enjoy the experience. However, you can bluetooth to the sound system in the Sauna to listen to your preferred music, audio book, podcast.... or enjoy the peace and quiet and pop in some provided ear plugs for serenity.

Who Should Avoid Infrared Sauna Therapy?

Infrared sauna therapy may not be suitable for individuals who are pregnant, have certain heart conditions, or are highly sensitive to heat. If you have any concerns or pre-existing health conditions, it's important to consult with a healthcare provider before using the sauna. In some cases, we may ask for a doctor's note to keep on file to ensure your safety during your session.

IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING SIGNS OF ILLNESS OR HAVE A FEVER PLEASE CANCEL YOUR SESSION FOR SAUNA OR MASSAGE.
